HSBC Mobile Phone Insurance

Mobile phone insurance is being offered by a number of different banks and other institutions these days, but so far there has been no sign of any HSBC mobile phone insurance, meaning that they are one of the last to jump aboard the insurance bandwagon, so what are the alternatives for customers of this particular bank?

The first alternative is to take out mobile phone insurance when you buy your phone, meaning that it will be insured either by the network – such as Orange or T-Mobile – or by the store that you buy the phone from – such as the Carphone Warehouse. This is often the most popular way (but not the cheapest) to purchase your phone insurance as it means that everything can be sorted in one easy payment at the time of purchase and also ensures that the phone is covered from the moment that you walk out of the door.

In the absence of any HSBC mobile phone insurance it is also possible to insure your phone with specialist insurance companies, who have been in the industry for quite a number of years. They often offer quite competitive packages and can provide assurances that they are at the head of the field.

The final option is to take out mobile phone insurance with a different bank, although this might mean that you have to switch bank account providers too. If you are already planning on changing banks then the lack of HSBC mobile phone insurance could persuade you to switch to a bank that does offer this service though, such as Barclays, Lloyds TSB, Natwest .
